$14.8 Million paid to the family of a man that was killed in a head-on collision with an 18 Wheeler. The tractor trailer operator blamed another vehicle for causing the crash. Since our client died in the crash, he could not refute the tractor trailer driver’s claim. Ultimately, we were able to prove that the tractor trailer operator was really at fault using extensive advanced accident reconstruction. This required experts that conducted extensive inspection, investigation, and documentation of the crash site, vehicles and trailers, as well as high resolution drone photography.
After we proved liability, we were able to “unlock” deeper layers of insurance coverage by proving claims against the hiring motor carrier for negligent selection of the sub motor carrier. This required extensive discovery and depositions of the two different carrier owners and employees, as well as experts in the field of motor carrier operations.
